A local co-op bullet hell in which 3 players must take on the roles of Gunner, Fighter, and Engineer, to protect their Valkyrie ship as they carry out their mission: find and destroy a devastating superweapon known as The Maw.
I was a designer and producer on Tungsten Valkyrie. I was responsible for desigining the Gunner player class, the roster of enemies the players face, a few of the game's bosses, and the underlying role-based gameplay.
My vision for the game was to have the players form a team that would be tested through trial by fire against wave after wave of enemies, with the gameplay teaching the players the rules and patterns of the game and encouraging them to exploit them. Each wave was built to teach something new to the player, and give the player the agency to learn that lesson of their own accord, this includes enemy types, enemy movement patterns, and special enemies.
